Be cautious of larger companies with 20+ DJs, where you often don’t find out who you’ll get until just two weeks before your wedding—this is a major red flag. While these companies may be more affordable, you want to work with a DJ who you can connect with and vibe alongside, not someone you meet at the last minute. They give your guests something fun to interact with, and they’re especially great for the more shy or self-conscious dancers who need a little extra confidence. Props like glow sticks, inflatable guitars, cowboy hats, or even giant “fat heads” (of the bride and groom or your pets!) are always a hit. Not only do they get people on the dance floor, but they make for hilarious and memorable photos, too!
